Virgo New Moon 2025: Chiron and the Nodes Guide Emotional Integration
On August 23 at 2:06 a.m., the Black New Moon rises at 0°22’ Virgo. Its challenging aspects to the outer planets stir emotional disturbances, exposing fault lines in our temperament.
A Virgo moon values tangible tools for navigating emotions; examining feelings with a perceptive and critical lens. Ruled by Mercury, a Virgo moon prefers to analyze its feelings and bypass actually feeling them. But this approach eventually results in either withdrawal or outburst.
This New Moon squares Uranus, fueling mood swings, unpredictability, and sudden disruptions. It also forms a quincunx to Saturn, pressing us to censor our feelings for the sake of harmony or spotlighting imbalance between work and intimacy. Another quincunx to Neptune blurs clarity with confusion, paranoia, or mistrust, while a final quincunx to Pluto magnifies fears, guilt, jealousy, or the need for control.
Thankfully, to an albeit wonky, out-of-sign, trine to Chiron we’re offered healing potential, in examining how old wounds have shaped our relationship to ourselves, self-worth and abundance.
This New Moon also activates the already sensitive 1° point—a cosmic hotspot visited recently by Uranus in Gemini, Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius. And while this is the first of two Virgo New Moons (the second on September 21 at 29° Virgo, also reactivating the 1° Libra point during this season’s final eclipse), both are taking place in the same sign as the South Node—a call to release what no longer serves us.
So, the period between August 23rd and September 21st is an invitation to refine how we embody Virgo energy. At its highest expression, Virgo offers loyalty, discernment, service, grounded wisdom, and clear, calm communication. Yet in shadow, Virgo tips into perfectionism, hyper-criticism, over-control, and worry.
The Pisces North Node asks us to keep Virgo’s gifts but soften its edges with compassion, empathy, intuition, and unity consciousness—reminding us to serve not just with precision, but with heart, especially on behalf of those less fortunate and without a voice: children, animals, our planet.

Aspect Deets:
A Virgo New Moon
A Virgo Moon craves clarity and order. It seeks practical solutions for emotional issues, analyzing feelings; therefore, a bypass to feeling them. Routines, structure, and systems not only bring order to their daily life, but are also deployed to bring comfort and balance to their emotional landscape.
The key is tempering analysis with compassion— nurturing self-compassion and self-care, fills our own well, so we can in turn pour sympathy and tenderness out towards others in acts of service.
New Moon square Uranus
Restless anticipation stirs under this aspect, making it hard to settle. Rapid mood shifts can spark irritability, impulsiveness, or rebellion against routine and responsibility. The craving for stimulation may drive us toward novelty, but thrills are likely fleeting.
Heightened creativity can help channel this wild energy more productively. Still, commitments—especially in relationships—may feel hard to maintain.
Emotional outbursts, whether our own or from others, may flare up suddenly but burn out just as quickly.
Extra patience, sensitivity, and self-awareness will help us navigate these sparks without escalating the drama.
New Moon quincunx Saturn
This aspect can strain harmony in close relationships, as personal and professional demands feel out of sync.
We may struggle to express emotions freely or feel unsupported, leading to frustration or sadness.
The medicine lies in patience, self-discipline, and loyalty (to ourselves as well as others)—choosing trust and forgiveness over withdrawal.
New Moon quincunx Neptune
Heightened emotional sensitivity blurs boundaries and fuels confusion. We may overreact, withdraw, or seek escape, while paranoia or mistrust can quietly erode connections.
Tipping points may be reached at this time, if an addiction is in the mix.
The challenge is to find balance—between service and self-sacrifice, awareness and worry, escape and grounding. Trust in yourself, others, and the greater flow of life to anchor through the fog.
New Moon quincunx Pluto
This transit stirs powerful, often unconscious emotions—fears, guilt, jealousy, or control dynamics may rise unexpectedly, creating inner turbulence or outer drama. If left unspoken, these feelings can erupt in outbursts or crises.
Information once obscured may come to light. This event may enable us to better understand our feelings and reactions.
Sharing our complex feelings with a trusted loved one or a professional may help us avoid emotionally painful experiences, while helping us gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the dynamics of our relationships.
New Moon trine Chiron
The New Moon trine Chiron also carries a subtle, but powerful, nuance: while an out-of-sign trine from Virgo to Aries vs. Taurus may suggest challenges, these are secondary to the stronger spiritual resonance of Chiron residing in Aries alongside Neptune. This placement amplifies spiritual healing energies, a theme further reinforced by Ceres—the asteroid of nurturing, cycles of growth, loss, and renewal—occupying their midpoint, doubling down on the cosmos’ call for inner care and transformation.
This aspect is ripe for allowing our pain to become a catalyst for growth and transformation.
Check in with how your emotional wounds have shaped your relationship with yourself and your attitudes towards self care, self worth and abundance.
Let this time inspire self love and compassion towards our emotional vulnerabilities. Embrace your wounds as valuable teachers guiding you towards emotional healing and a deeper sense of self-worth and self love.
In Closing…
We are now entering a lunar cycle bookended by two Virgo New Moons. This first one opens the doorway, setting the tone, while the second in September—an eclipse—will bring either more opportunities to rectify the imbalance or bring the lesson learned full circle. Together, they frame a potent period of self-examination and soulful refinement.
The inharmonious aspects may stir discomfort, yet they also expose what’s raw and unintegrated within us. With Chiron’s guiding hand, we’re reminded to nurture our own tender places with compassion, so that we can, in turn, offer steadier care and presence to others.
The nodal axis guides us to the space between control and surrender, where Virgo’s precision meets Pisces’ flowing heart. In this New Moon’s light, we are invited to discover our own equilibrium—where insight harmonizes with intuition, and discernment blends with compassion. Here, we remember our interconnectedness, seeing ourselves reflected in each being and every creature and element of the natural world around us.
May this lunation bring clarity, healing, and the gentle strength to walk the path of integration.
In light and love,
Brenda
